For sixteen years, the Southside Worker Center has supported Tucson’s day laborers and other low-wage immigrant workers in the fight to build collective power and win dignified work and just salaries. This Fall, we have a special opportunity for YOU to join Southside and our dedicated members in advancing the fight for justice by sponsoring our upcoming October 1 quinceñera celebration.
SWC is a community service program of the Southside Presbyterian Church. Our members tout the center as a place all can come and be welcome. They are proud of what they’ve accomplished, including establishing an expectation with day laborer employers that SWC members must earn at least $18.75/hour, increasing to $25/hour by December.
Southside members stand proud as they negotiate for the street on the corner of 10th and 23rd, knowing they deserve a bigger share of the pie. Our quinceñera sponsorships offer you a way to support the community and help make higher wages and good work for all a reality. You’ll also get to enjoy a great celebration and the benefits of being associated with a community-driven nonprofit.
